a week of wholeheartedness: 9.9.11

Oh my goodness….can you believe it’s almost Fall? My kids are back in school, mornings and nights are uber-cool (awesome sleeping weather), and more and more local apples are showing up in the stores which means apple crisp season is just around the corner!  My favorite recipe includes cranberries to give a nice tart pucker! Do you have a favorite (unique?) apple crisp recipe? Please let me know in the comments!

Life Snaps

This past week has been full of hauling wood up at the cabin (I love some good old fashioned manual labor) and getting the kids ready and off to school.  I do believe the school pattern has returned without too much fuss and I’m hoping little one (Sawyer) isn’t quite so cranky next week…she’s been a bit rough around the edges (i.e. surly!) this week.

These photos are actually from 4th of July weekend (shhhh…..) but they represent pretty much what we did at the cabin over Labor Day weekend including same clothes! I learned that I really do love burned marshmallows and they’re oh so much faster to make than carefully and thoughtfully toasted marshmallows. Look how wide I can open my mouth! My orthodontist must have been spoofing when he said I have a small mouth…

    Hi,
I love your blog design and the photos are making me hungry and homesick for our cottage in Michigan. Thanks for the mention. I appreciate you.
